Following British successes in the sport, cycling is becoming one of the principal go-to leisure activities in the UK
All members of the cycling group said they had benefited from the programme & asked us to consider holding a Festival to celebrate cycling as an activity.
Feedback from the group helped us to arrange events which makes the day entirely user driven.
If you’re a beginner or an experienced rider this day is for you
Courtesy of Dave Owen Cycles there’s a chance to participate in a free raffle to win a bike
Community Together CIC are a not for profit community interest company who provide a range of community activities that support people to Grow Well, Live Well and Age Well. As a community organisation we are reliant on the generosity of people helping us raise funds to help us achieve our objectives.
One of the ways we do this is through the Tombola Table at our central hub located in Tamworth Castle Grounds.
The table is an Aladdin’s cave of prizes, most of which are donated by our supporters.
For only 50p there’s a chance to win a nice prize & at the same time, contribute to the well-being of your neighbourhood.
As you can appreciate, there is a fairly rapid turnover of prizes, & we are always grateful for donations, either in cash to buy prizes or prizes themselves. When accepting donations, we are unable to accept any damaged, used items as prizes and appreciate any new or good condition prizes that will help us to generate funds to support the charitable work we do.
Either call in with your donation at the Hub in Tamworth Castle Grounds, or you can contact us on 01827 59646 Ask for Lee, Steve, or Debbie
Commencing in March 2017 we are piloting a new activity in our Hub
Called “Cook Together, Eat Together”, it combines two of our key community objectives of “bringing people together” & “promoting healthy eating”. We plan to hold the activity between 4:00pm & 6:00 pm to allow families to attend.
We have a fully equipped domestic style kitchen in the hub, which allows us to replicate a small early evening meal, such as you would have at home.
Initially, we envisage a single course, but, with experience, we hope to develop the activity further
With an ageing population, social isolation is becoming a UK wide issue.
Based on the latest Health & Well being data for Tamworth, the town has over 15,000 people aged 65 or over, of which over 3,500 are lone pensioners. Additionally, there are almost 7,000 income deprived pensioner households. Both the lone pensioner & income deprived groups are at high risk of social isolation.
In a bid to help the elderly Tamworth Community to overcome isolation, every Wednesday, during term time, we run a Befriending Lunch between 11:00 am & 2:00 pm at our Hub in the Castle grounds
At our befriending session, you can enjoy a cooked meal as well as social activities covering 41/2 Hours. You will find that these activities help to stimulate you & at the same time, give some respite to your carers.
We are also able to give support through telephone calls & home visits.

It’s long been proclaimed that physical exercise is good for our well being.although joining a gym might work for some, it’s not for everybody, but medical practitioners tell us that Walking & Cycling for just 150 minutes a week can help to keep us healthy.
Join one of our walking & cycling groups to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, come to our Hub in the Castle Grounds.
Details of the Walking & Cycling groups are on the following posters:
